Course Overview

The Industrial Control System Security Practitioner course provides the practitioner level skills required to monitor and investigate security events within an ICS/OT environment, to detect, analyse and implement technical and non-technical measures to mitigate cyber security threats and ensure ICS/OT operations are able to continue by using incident response procedures.

This course equips participants with advanced, practitioner-level skills essential for monitoring, investigating, and responding to cyber security events within Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. Given the unique challenges and critical nature of ICS/OT systems—often integral to critical infrastructure like power grids, manufacturing plants, and water treatment facilities—the course focuses on the specialised techniques required to secure these environments effectively.

Participants will gain expertise in continuously monitoring ICS/OT environments to identify potential security incidents, utilising specialised tools and technologies designed to detect unusual activities that may indicate a cyber threat. They will develop the analytical skills necessary to thoroughly investigate security breaches or anomalies within these systems, with a deep understanding of their architecture, the ability to recognise signs of a cyber attack, and the capability to trace the source and impact of the threat.
