This course aims to provide you with the fundamental knowledge and awareness of what your  Digital Footprint is, what its effects are and how you can protect yourself from it.

This course is suitable for all staff in an organisation or individuals to ensure consistent awareness of how a digital footprint is created and how to best protect your personal data captured in your digital footprint.

Course content

The course covers the following components:

  • What a digital footprint is and how it is created through everyday online activities, including app usage, social media, browsing, and account creation.
  • The types of personal data that are commonly shared online and how they contribute to a digital footprint.
  • The role of cookies and trackers in collecting user information and explain how cookie settings can be managed for better privacy.
  • Social media behaviour, including what you post and how others’ posts can affect your online reputation.
  • How unused accounts and apps should be deleted to reduce unnecessary data exposure.
  • Best practices for maintaining digital hygiene

Interactive modules and knowledge assessment are included. On successful completion a certificate is provided via .pdf which provides evidence towards competence training.  The course certificate expires 12 months from issue.
